My friends and I found ourselves in a technique argument. Do you punch the bottom arm and lock it out at take off using your bottom arm to bend the pole?

Any one know of any good meets anywhere in the country from july through august, also if anyone had information on those new altius poles and could inform me i would appreciate it.
