Re: Mid Mark Chart

Ok. Today at the workout, I had my polevaulter grip the pole at 12 ft. I asked him if he thought he get that grip into the pit and he said he could and did. So, according to the chart, I set the "Mid" mark at 40 ft and the take off at 9 ft. I did not tell him what I was doing. He ran a 10 ...

Thanks for the information. That really helps out and makes a lot of sense. Where is her video of the sand vault? On the video threads?

Re: Scholarships

Here is my story for recruitment/scholarships from this past weekend. It was a DII college and they currently have 2 sophomores, 1 junior, and 1 senior over 15 feet. The coach told my son and I flat out that we would not even have been talking to him if it was last year, and that he is only looking ...

Re: Mid Mark Chart

I am sorry if this has already been asked and answered. I didn't have time to read all 27 pages on this post. If I wanted to use these marks for a 3 lefts drill, should I use the marks for the grip height. For example, if my athlete has a grip height of 9-10, I should start him out at 33 feet? If I ...

Re: Most Important Muscles

A few post back some one mentioned Abs and then someone mention Core. I believe that this area is the most important muscles! When I mean core, I mean everything from the above the knees to the arm pits! Front, back, and side. Of this, the Hips are the most important for generating power! Focusing o...

Re: Meet Day Warm Up Routines

Mine takes about 35 minutes to have a complete warm up for me. Usually at practice it's a little longer, but not that much. Jog for about 5 minutes skips with crossbody arm swings skips with shoulders circles forward and back skip scoops Active butterfly stretch fire hydrants lying legswings iron c...

Strength Training For Vaulters

I posted this yesterday and it disappeared. Did I violate a board rule? Sorry if I did. But, my son is a senior in high school, I am his coach, and I am looking for a weightlifting/strength training program for vaulters. Any suggestions?

Re: 1-2-3 Standards

As an official, I really like this idea. I have been to some Invitationals where there have been 30 vaulters! Next to continually have to reset the cross bar, setting the standards takes up the most time. I think that using 3 settings will significantly reduce the time at vaulting. As a coach, I thi...
