I just began Pole Vaulting...tips?

I just started pole vaulting this year. I am a senior... yeah i know kinda lame to start...but yeah. I was a gymnast for 10 years, so hopefully that can help me somehow. But for now...I have competed in probably 5 meets including The Summit in Reno. And I have PRed every meet. Now I am at 8'6" It is...

We have helmets at our school. Yeah you look dumb wearing them....but hey its saves you. Cuz last year a guy on our team landed head first in the box. Turned out he was ok....but 100 or so stitches later...SO helmets arent that bad. AND Toby the olympian wears one :)

yeah I was a gymnast for 10 years. When I was 10 I won State in California. But I'm not sure if its helped that much with pole vaulting....some days it does...but my bad habits from gymnastics arent that great...
