Re: Big Jump in Poles
It might be a good idea to go to a longer run, but you need to be comfortable with it and know where your steps are, NOT by running your steps backward. Measured pole runs with a slide box can be helpful. So instead of just going straight to jumping with it do pole runs to get comfortable with the ...

Re: Big Jump in Poles
Do you think that it would be good if I went back a step when i moved up to the bigger pole? And yes I agree that i need to be blowing through the pole I'm on now on a shorter step. The only problem I have right now is that I have about 6 weeks before my regionals and i just got onto the 13'6 170

Big Jump in Poles
I'm currently on a 13'6 165 and the only other poles i have to move to is a 14'6 160 or a 13'6 180. Right now I weigh about 170 so it would be kind of difficult to get to 160 but it is possible. I was wondering what would be a better pole to move too?

stress fracture.
Last season was cut short for me due to a stress fracture in my leg. I had been experiencing shin splints for a couple months and it ended up being a stress fracture. I got to rest it for the most part of the summer minus normal activities and football workouts. We also went to a physical therapist ...

Jumping up and not out
I have the problem that I want to jump out and not up. My coach/teammate has got me doing drills in the sand pit to get me to jump up and not out. This is my second year jumping so I’m not scared that I’m not going to land in the pit but he thinks that’s what it is. I wanted to know if there are any...
