Apparently, the NCAA scholarship committee likes pole vaulters because two of us from Texas Tech also got the award. If you're a pole vaulter it sounds like you have a pretty solid chance at being awarded!

Yeah, that is definitely a misprint. That guy was actually like 6'2 or so. Not sure how the 6'10 got on there.

If you're really serious about vaulting in college, I would recommend going somewhere in the Big 12 or Pac 10. This is a good question. I have gone to Reno the last two years as a high school vaulter and let me tell ya...it's not cheap. Depending on where you live, America West is a great airline to use. They never charge for pole transportation and I have never had any pole troubles when traveling with them...
