Uneven enforcement of weight ratings on poles
Our high school requires that the weight rating match the weight of the vaulter. However, no one else in any of the meets abides by these rules. The coaches seem to look the other way. Anyone know of someone teaching pole vaulting this summer somewhere near the East End of Long Island (privates ok)? I have a high school girl sophmore who vaults 8' in a meet.

She is 5'2", around 140 lbs, she has jumped 10'6" with a bungee, but in meets she has done 8'. At school she is on a 12' 150 Spirit pole that she can't bend. At practice, she likes to use the 11' 6" 120 lb Spirit pole. Can't tell you about the standards. She is currently a sophomore. ...
