I think you misunderstood me. I meant by timing by holding the big chest position at takeoff so you can obtain depth into the pit and have a powerful swing. But if you collapse the chest the legs and hips will come forward too soon as in swinging up too soon

I agree with VaultPurple about your hips coming forward. I had this same problem last year and its kinda coming back right now. I figured out that I'm trying to swing too early for a 'free takeoff'. You need to stay big and chesty and hold that take off position a little longer before swinging up. I...

OH MY GOODNESS! The happiness in my life has just increased ten fold. I'm so pumped for these poles. Especially because we're buying a few new poles this year! These are topping the list right now.

Maybe one thing to keep in mind is their gymnastics training with strength and drills. Many of Petrov's drills and workouts are double legged instead of imitating the takeoff lead knee. Perhaps this may have something to do with dropping the knee. Maybe when doing the drills they feel more powerful ...
