Bad Season

This year I didn't improve my pr. As a freshman I jumped 13' and 13' is the highest I went as a sophomore. This year I worked on my run mostly and got it down great from 16 steps. At regionals which was the first meet that I moved it back to 16 steps from 14, i blew through my poles that I had which...

Does A&M have recources available for their vaulters year round? i know here at ACU the pit is out year round for anyone to come jump, and there is a gymnastics facility also available year round. Plus the weight rooms etc.. all the givens.

Hey that tip came from a great vaulter, not me. Risk of injury is the fun of it. If you emphasize jumping off of the ground it takes stress off of the pole and gives you more up rather that more bend and less up.

if im blowing through the pole i try to emphasize my jump, thinking about jumping more up then "straight" so to speak. and ill move my grip on the pole down, not up because it makes the pole stiffer.
