Re: Jump for a Cure- Pole Vault Competition
Is there a website or somewhere to find the information? I can't seem to open the link from what you shared in the original post.
Thank you, and best of luck hosting the event.

Re: Help pressing through swing
Hey gabsterpv! I am guessing you are a right handed vaulter and by "left arm" you mean your bottom arm? Posting a video of a few of your vaults will help determine what the issue might be. You mention that you have a good take off and both arms are extended? Do they continue to stay extend...

Re: Progression of poles
First, I agree 110% with Kirk on standards. Our program has our standards "frozen" on 80 for practice and most meets (weather/ wind depending). I see to many coaches try cheating with standard placement due to poor technique of the vaulter - and increasing the chances of injury. :dazed: Se...

Re: Is depth perception affecting the take-off step and posture?
Just to note, the "take-off gate" is just used for approach drills with and without a slide box. I fear and will not use this during actual jumps for safety measures and am encouraging others to use the same percussion if they plan to utilize this training aid.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Is depth perception affecting the take-off step and posture?
This was recently brought up in a separate topic, and believe it can be discussed in more detail. Does a vaulters (beginner-intermediate) depth perception affect take-off step and position? A high percentage of my incoming freshmen have their “comfort zone” 6-8 inches under their take off mark. This...

Re: Striding Out at Takeoff
Every coach will have their opinion on counting steps or not. I personally believe in it and has brought a lot of success for my program. Its not just a simple process of counting (I don't believe in counting up or down in #'s however in phases) but how to count and the reason why. - for a future to...

Re: Striding Out at Takeoff
Both gents bring up excellent points above..... one simple question that hasn't been asked is, do you count your steps during your approach run? From the videos, it doesn't look like you start to drop the pole consistently at the same spot. The pole drop tempo should increase as your approach run in...
