Dead Horse? I'm not familiar with the expression but
1. I'm new here
and
2. I'm guessing its been posted already?

Regardless, that was my opinion and I want to know what other people think unless you can find me the posts about it.

Allison Stokke

I read an article yesterday in Glamour magazine titled ''give this girl her life back''. If you look her up, she is a beautiful girl with a wonderful physique, but it's sad how she is known for that and not her pole vaulting accomplishments. She has turned down interviews with CNN and other big broa...

Ok thanks for the posts guys. I'm also wondering if I should try and lose any weight though because I am really fit and lean but i feel so heavy when i run and jump. My running coach even told me i ''run heavy'' which i know doesnt mean i'm fat by any standards but does this mean if i weighed a bit ...

the standards are going from 50- 60 and the height is 2m25cm (I know it's not high, but I've pretty much had to start from zero after this mental block). My PR was 2.36 (i did it last year) and havent done more than 2.25 since :S

Yeah, I'm just blowing right through the pit and right into the bar. I guess I'll raise my grip. I dont have much of a swinging action going up but i dont really feel like i have time to get my hips up because its happening so fast, and the standards moving back is agood idea, only ive tried it and ...

Gymnastics; is it worth it and why?

A girl I vault with was a gymnast prior to learning the pole vault. (she did 20+ hours of training in the gym a week!) She is an amazing vaulter, and I've always heard that gymnastics is beneficial to pole vaulting, but I dont know if it would be worth it at my level. I'd say I'm an ok pole vaulter,...

To lose weight or to gain muscle, that is the question.

So my question is, for vaulters, is it better to be really light or to be really strong because theres a girl who vaults at my club whos 14 years old and tiny and she fly's above the bar with total ease, or is it better to have more muscle, because I feel heavy when i jump, like it requires all this...

After a mental block: stronger run but jumping into the bar

Hey guys, I'm new here in the forum (have been reading but recently signed up). As a vaulter, I broke our cities record last year (dont ask, the record isnt really high as pole vaulting is not super popular here!) but then i qualified for provincials and all that was a great boost of vaulting self e...
