i would say first thing make sure you are as tall and extended as you can at that takeoff so you can keep your hips back. your swing id say to row those shoulders. after takeoff you seem to only really be relying on your bottom half to get that swing up but think about also actively rowing your hand...

work on loosening the shoulders up. hang on a pull up bar relax your body and let somebody push your chest through your shoulders. don't go till it hurts and injure yourself but get the elastic feeling of your chest coming through your shoulders, then bring that movement into any high bar swings you...

get a good strong push off the top and they are very easy to roll over and penetrate.
a lot less work then pacers and a lot more pole then the altius which always felt weak to me
and they feel like running with a twig which is great.

from the little i have jumped on the altius carbon poles they have all felt about 10 lbs softer then the label indicates and don't feel a whole lot of push off of the top. i was on pacer carbons for years and they are great but switched to the essx recoil advances this year and am now hooked on them...

just wondering if anybody knew a reason for the switch?
