Vaulting Area in Southern Maine or New Hampshire
Hey, My Coach and I were looking to find an area to vault for the coming months. We want to get a group of people together to jump with us, maybe once a week or so... but the biggest issue right now is having a place to be able to set up. We have access to a pit, but we currently do not have any spa...

NIN and NSIC are on the exact same days?
How come both meets are on March 13-15?
Do they purposely try to limit athletes to one meet?
Also, who's planning on going to what?

Well if not speed suits... 1/2 tights? My coach tells me that vaulting in tights is a much better feeling. You have almost no resistance on your legs and it's like running in mesh shorts vs. jeans. If I grow a mullet and a Brian Sell mustache, then can I wear one? http://www.nyrr.org/races/pro/mens_...

Yeah. Where I can find what's wrong with his stuff? Just so I have a good idea... any threads on it? Edit: just saw the links... Edit 2: When I was at the camp, they never once said anything about the tuck and shoot. They told us to keep a straight trail leg, and get that whipping action like I desc...

Re: First time indoors for the year.
The idea to stretching your back leg out is to build this incredibly strong elastic band in your body. It gets to a point where you're incapable of holding it, and you can use it to whip up to the inversion. Sorry if this isn't the "accepted" terminology... it's what I learned at Bill Falk...

Re: 6P - 11-20-08 - INDOOR VAULTING 1
Nothing jump specific, I'll let others take care of that. But... I honestly believe that your approach could use work. You're not driving your knees as much as you could be in your run, really pushing off the ground to build up that explosive power. Also, your upper body looks weird... It's like you...

So what's the opinion: Speed Suits
I've seen a lot of videos with people wearing them, and several others where vaulters are just in normal singlets and shorts.
What's your opinion?

Re: Drills to help with the breaking of bottom arm
I can't tell you how many times I hear people (high school vaulters) say that that is the reason why they can't invert or jump 16 feet... This aspect of technique is WAY over emphasized, I find. You should never consciously TRY to 'break' your arm in. If your arm habitually 'tries' not to 'break', ...

Re: Drills to help with the breaking of bottom arm
to collapse it in so my wrist is bent around the pole and my elbow is on the inside close to my body and ends up right in the center of my chest on inversion.

Drills to help with the breaking of bottom arm
I have a problem with not completely breaking my bottom arm in, and I was wondering what I can do in the air or on the ground to improve on this...
