Re: High School Coaches

I know I was mad when I wrote the post the other day. This is my problem which I did address the coach last night (no better situation). Our son loves vaulting whether he will do it in college I do not know. His PR is 15'5 he is a JR and we live in the midwest. We take him to some indoor meets in th...

Re: High School Coaches

We are in our 2nd week, districts don't start until middle of May. He runs 12 steps at every meet but ours. No major injuries. He wants our other vaulter to go to state too and it is like he is pushing him and lifting his confidence that he will always win, in the meantime destroying the other vault...

Re: High School Coaches

He vaults 15'1, he is a Junior. We continue to have problems every season starting out and we go to the coach and athletic director but the coach is the only person within 3 hours that knows what a pole is I think! Very unhappy. This is ruining our son's attitude.

High School Coaches

OMG, what do you do with a coach who holds you back? At home meets he holds our son back to a short run (3 steps) and this past meet he would not let him use his bigger pole. The father of the boy that was competing with our son was putting the bar up upside down and on the edge of the pins and we h...

I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a rule book for pole vaulting of if you have to buy the Track and Field rule book just for the section on pole vaulting? We would like to find something to beable to keep with us when needed. Thanks

Indoor meets

We heard that some colleges have indoor meets now for running events for kids still in high school. Has anyone ever heard of these, or know how to find them, which colleges have them, and do they have pole vault competition?

First of all we won the event Thursday night but he stopped at 11' because everyone else was out at 10' and it was 29 degrees. We were freezing. He made 10 pts for the team which the team won. He also received his varsity letter Thursday. we did not have to compete in any relays or marathons. Also, ...

We complained to the principal, AD, of course the coach who was upset with us from the beginning of the year because we asked to practice at the school and that is when he made the comment that if he allowed him to practice in the off season it wouldn't be fair to the other schools, but I did make a...

We travel to Bell for camps. At this point my son would go anywhere if he could vault. We used to live in Ark. Don't tell him he would want to move back!
