I can agree with you on that one. I play volleyball, and vault (obviously) most of the time. I'm also the thrid best thrower on the team with a PR of 37, throwing at most 3 times per season. I'm 6'2" and really skinny, every season some of the freshmen laugh when I come up to the throwing coach and ...

Just toss in a few pickups and accelerators into your normal runs, they'll keep your speed muscles there and retain some speed. A question for the upcoming summer off-season. How should a pole vaulter lift weights to best increase strength without making huge gains in bulk? If you've never lifted before you're going to gain bulk. If you have lifted before you wont gain as much bulk, possibly none. One of the keys to keeping...

If you're looking for something that'll help you up top you can always to handstands. They help a lot with balance. You might need a spotter (or a wall) at first. Once you get it down try shifting the weight over a single shoulder and doing it 1 handed. Helps a lot with the last part of the vault. T...

Fall/Summer Vaulting in Central New York
Does anyone know where there are vaulting facilities for fall and summer training? The closer to Syracuse the better. Thanks.
