I think I tore my ACL... but not off the bone, hopefully not though, I just wanted to ask what it feels like, can you walk with a slight tear? If you can when does it hurt when stepping? and also it might be the PCL which is rarer, so I want to know when it hurts to walk with a torn PCL

Thanks for the reply anti-gravity.. I will definetly try narrowing my grip when I get back to vaulting, but for now I think I'm going to do some basic drills to get the rythm back and the proper motions, trying not to strain the shoulder... But I'll let you know how it turns out.

Hey thanks for the responses... sorry it's been a while, I've been busy with school. but I saw a sports doctor and she said that I have Multidirectional Instability, which seems to be the most common shoulder injury in athletes, she said that it was posterior more than anterior because of the swingi...

My grip is shoulder width apart, maybe a hand more... my bottom arm is not straight, it is bent, I call it my block arm, because it blocks me from running into the pole on takeoff... and I don't know what a block and break vaulter is

I saw a doctor, and he recomemded me to physio, so I just finished that, it was for 4 weeks, so I wasn't vaulting for 4 weeks, I was exercising it. also I know I'm not inside or outside... by the way, incase I didn't mention it, it's not my top arm, it's my block arm popping out of place

I don't do this myself, but I figure a really good way is to say stuff like, easy height, we all got this, just clear it and get it over with, or just plain face, say, no pressure

personally, I don't know what I look at, I think it's the sky, but I'm not sure, I'm too busy thinking of the technique that I should be using at the right time, for instance, when I'm about to start running, I'm thinking of my first step, when I get to the box, I think arm up, arm out... and so on,...

well there is a drill that you can do to prevent your top hand from pulling down, it's called hangs (at least that's what I call them) I just do them from my 4 step, some people do 6, other people are just crazy... but just hold the pole in your top hand only on top of your shoulder, of course at a ...

back on topic, Last time I ran the 100 was a long time ago, musta been 4 years now, and I wasn't vaulting then, so I wont say a time, because I'm not sure of it's accuracy, but I run the 110 hurdles, and just last week I got a PB of 15.7, and over the summer I ran the 200m in 25 flat

I started out in Pole Vault, then I went on to decathalon. I personally found the transition easy, except for the 1500. I'm 6'4" tall and 180 pounds, so I'm not a big guy, but I guess to do pole vault you have to have the power muscles, so that really helped when it came to shot and disc, and of cou...

Just one more thing that I forgot to mention, During the summer I was doing fine on my 14 step, but now my arm pops out on 10 step, but does just fine on 8 step. I tried the practice jump on 10 step, but the week before I did about a 10' jump on my 8 step and nothing happened
