Did it have a cork plug in the top? I had a pole break clean like that, with a nice 3 foot section in my hands. In the bottom part of the pole, at the break, was the cork (form the days when poles had corks instead of caps). I assume it had worked its way down and prevented the pole from ovaling as ...

....were those 14 foot poles you were on???? Yes. This year I worked my way onto 14's. When my steps are on, my plant is high enough and I provide sufficient whip-swing, I can get on them. Not "if", but "when" those fail me, I have to bail on my jump; like on my last attempt at 4m. I'm 5'9" and 142...

Congratulations!!

Your vaults are a real thing of beauty.

And the WR - that is like lipstick on a pretty girl... it makes a good thing even better.

The title Master is well deserved.

One of my vaulters complained of bottom arm shoulder pian early this spring. Narrowing this grip to the point where his hand was above his eyes ended the pain. Will that work for you.....I just can't say without seeing you jump. I will tell you to give careful consideration to skivaulter 's post. A ...

Complete your swing up by physically touching your top hand to your shins, left shin in particular. Yours come close, but you begin pushing with the left hand an instant before they touch. The key to extension is following the pole. I would focus on my top hand, keeping my top arm straight, and pull...

1 - Your trail leg is bent as you swing. A bigger stick will require a full swing. Time index late 22 early 23 on your video. 2 - When you come off the top of the pole you "lever off " insted of pulling through the top of the pole. Look at yur left arm just as your knees go above the bar. You are pu...

I do have a question though...what is the reason for h.s. and college rules stating a minimum for standards? When if you go to IAAF or USATF meets you can have them as close as you want. I don't really see a real reason for this..am I the only one that thinks that standards should have the same rul...

I call it my block arm, because it blocks me from running into the pole on takeoff Actions come from ideas..... At a moment when you want everything focused forward and upward, the concept of "block" is, in my limited opinion, incompatible. It sounds as if you are getting your arms up and bracing f...

Re: Marks

Have never had a problem until this year at the Big Ten Champs in East Lansing, MI. For as long as I can remember measuring we have always measured from the back of the box at the top of the box. Mich. State had their take off marks (9-10-11-12-13-14) measured from the back of the box but from the ...
