During training Czerwinski has fallen on his left arm so unlucky way that one of the bones is broken. That's all they printed in newspaper.

4 Russians and 2 Poles againt six other competitors representing rest of the world. Interesting group. It can be easily the greatest ever pole vault competition. At least 6-7 of the finalists may clear 4.80 in co-operating weather conditions.

Polish power ?

Did you notice that there is amazing number of good American women pole vaulters with Polish names? Stuczynski, Dudek, Buczko, Chmielewski, Maskulinski, Rudy, Sakowski. All over 3.80, not counting Oliwia Kalinowski (3.85 this year) preserving the Polish citizenship although she's studyimg in USA
