Mizuno Spikes
Where I am the guys seem to really like the Mizuno Spikes. One thing I will say is the difference between the Japanese Models and U.S. Models is like night and day. If you can get a hold of the Japanese Model...DO IT.

Kenny I'm sorry but i diasgree with your post. If you look at Munsoned's location he comes from Missouri. For a coach to bring vaulters half way across the United States and not monitor their locations / actions would be professional suicide. This man cares about vaulters and thier safety. As a par...

Re: Move it back to the Sierra
I have gone to Reno the last 5 years. I usually take between 5 and 11 vaulters each year. I vaulted in college, I now coach and teach at the high school level. I dont think we will be back unless it goes back to the other hotel (Grand Sierra). There were just to many things to worry about. When I w...

I think 5.81?
He is attempting 5.90 now. Wind looks like it is a cross tail.
Becca, Gio's P.R. is actually 5.82M at the Mt. SAC Relays. I confirmed this with Brian. I guess the results were wrongly posted as 5.81M, but it was actually 5.82M which the IAAF credits him with.

Other Great Options in Colleges
For those of you who think you are going to get an athletic (pole vaulting) scholarship... think again. Unless you are in the top 2% of all vaulters, this is probably not going to be a reality. The 2 year community college option is another great option where you can continue learning from some top ...

learn how to vault!!
The bottom line for your hand slipping is simple. You are applying pressure/energy into the pole in the wrong direction. Instead of placing energy upward into the pole you are putting it down the pole. Your hand will not slip if you are applying energy at a 90 degree angle into the pole. Simple phys...

For those of you who know anything about pole vaulting..... I believe Spirit Poles are the best. There is a reason why more championships have been won on Spirits. Even at the last world championships, there were more vaulters on Pacer Carbons, but who won?? A SPIRIT VAULTER. Yes Brad Walker is a ST...
