Legs fall forward when i tuck my butt in

When i get up on the pole i get my legs up but when i try to tuck my butt in, to get my body straight, my feet fall forward, into the pit area. I had a meet yesterday and i kept going over with my back facing the bar. Is this just a lack of ab strength? Maybe my arms are too far away from the pole? ...

Getting used to new speed

the last couple days ive been toying around with a 7-step aproach...WOW! Im a lot faster and im penetrating the pit a ton more, the problem is that things are happening so fast now that i dont have time to think about what i need to do while im in the air. I'm sure this is fairly common....anybody h...

longer strides: speed vs. momentum

I have a tendency to run with short powerful strides. My coach is always trying to get me to lengthen my strides and i know it will make me faster but does that mean ill have more momentum? It seems like the length of stride wouldnt effect momentum which is really what makes you go higher. Any thoug...

normally as in shoes or spikes....like your everyday shoes are 9.5 or your spikes are usually 9.5? Spikes in general seem to run small.

Last year i vaulted in the asics hypersprint which is basically just a sprint version of that shoe. They worked very well for me but i dont have much experience with jump spikes (i usually just used sprinting spikes) so i cant tell you if theyre better or worse than jump spikes but they're good spik...

A little off topic, but kinda neat: In the 30s they built a whole wooden track at my highschool so that during the winter runners could train for the spring season. They tore it apart in the 70s and used wood from the track to make picture frames for pictures of runners, and other gifts for retiring...

The mizuno is 1.8oz lighter and it looks to me like better spike placement. The reebok looks like it will keep you on your toes more, it has a little more of a heel and it looks better ;)

By the way, the JW Foster's are $50 cheaper at firsttothefinish.com

Reebok spike sizing

I think ive decided to go with the reebok jw foster lj/pv for this season but theres no way im going to be able to find it in a local shop...which leaves me to order it. I'm pretty uncomfortable ordering shoes because i usually have to feel a shoe on me before i will decide to buy it. I'm just wonde...
