Re: NCAA Mandates new ASTM Box Collar by Dec 2013
First of all, I apologize for the length of this post, but hopefully it helps. I have been pretty quiet around PVP and Facebook about this topic and it seems that people either love or hate the new collar. I also feel that a lot of people are very skeptical and have such a negative opinion on the co...

Re: Advice for College Vaulting Seekers
Well put...I think one of the biggest things I have seen recently is that too many kids get hung up on what division the school is in. I went to a division III school and had success there mainly because of the coach there. I have seen many kids who have tons of potential turn down coming to my scho...

Re: Interesting new rule in New Jersey
Hey guys, Since we are still fighting with the NJSIAA to get them overrule this, I was going to send my own letter to Don Danser and just wanted to know what you guys think of it. I know it probably will not do much since compared to everyone who has already emailed, I am not as qualified, but i fig...

Re: Interesting new rule in New Jersey
I should clarify that all of these rules are not enforced at all meets but mostly the invitaional/relays and the "time limit" rule was only at one meet. That rule just sticks out to me because it was enforced at the relay meet that my old high school hosts. For the most part though, the 6...

Re: Interesting new rule in New Jersey
Becca, Thank you for sending that email. Hopefully it'll help the NJSIAA reconsider this ruling. Unfortunately, NJ is probably one of the least PV friendly states. Between our "6 jumps" rule where a competitor can only take 6 jumps total in a competition, not allowing an athlete jump at al...

Re: Skip the Small Poles?
As my good friend Father Time once said, "A correre e cagare ci si immerda i garretti." Translation: Only real men land on the slant of the pit. If you don't get stood up at least twice you're not trying hard enough. Does Borges jump on small poles? No. He only has three. Big, Giant, and ...

Re: WC Women Finals - Another great competition!
I don't think she's that into it anymore. I totally disagree. I have seen several interviews with here the last year (and also after the competition yesterday), and I'm sure that she will be back better than ever. Her jump on 4.75 was on a to soft pole, and the last on 4.80 on a to stiff. Her jump ...

Re: Worst indoor season ever ?
Hello, As a current collegiate vaulter in his last season of eligibility who has the goal of becoming elite at some point, there has been a lot of activity on PVP as well as in the track community regarding those who are like me. The idea of pursuing my goals of making it to the next level are becom...
