Re: Interesting new rule in New Jersey
I agree with Dan on this one. Who ticked off the wrong person? The clubs that have logos on their poles as a way to label them (either as advertising or a property marker) are making this sport safer through instruction and ALLOWING THE USE of poles. In my view, the rule is a way to push clubs out o...

Re: Syracuse to cut the pole vault?
The question I wonder is whether the head coach just wanted to focus on distance running (some schools, for instance Pepperdine Mens Track, just treat Track as Spring opportunities for the cross country team), OR... did the University just say we're covering the track in Astroturf, there's nothing ...

Re: Syracuse to cut the pole vault?
Syracuse would assumably host meets at the collegiate and high school level and no pole vault would give them an incomplete and sub-standard facility. I'm sure that's not what a high quality school like Syracuse aims for. They have hosted high school and college meets for years, and have had severa...

Re: IAAF to try and help Kenya get poles
I would assume this means pits, standards, & runway. Based on the fact it is for a championship meet, I doubt they would be approved for financing for vaulting poles to be used by the host country.

Re: Shipping Poles to Competition site
Here is a company that was recently founded by two former decathletes, Chris Boyles and Paul Terek, specifically for shipping vaulting poles.

3) you must hold the minimum number of events to count as NCAA meet... I am still trying to find out this number but you could probably get away with not having any of the horizontal jumps and use those runways for vaulting. You could also run most of the running events on a Friday of a two or thre...

How about a simple idea that is already in place. Sponsorship contracts that stipulate commercial advertisement. If we get more athletes on these small television spots that many major companies spend millions of dollars on each year, then we would get more recognition and attendance without the nee...
